HF transceiver setup

Power supply : separate car battery
This has been upgraded from a used car battery that is fixed with a strap in the back of the car to a neatly build in  PBQ AGM of 150 AH

HF Antennas
Homebrew mobile antenna :

Core : 8mm glassfibre rod,
1mm copper wire wound around the glass-fiber rod
the rod is glued in a cut-off MS-116A part  and sealed with heat-shrink tubing.
Stationary Whip antenna about 6 meters long

Updated configuration (14-feb-2009) 
added:
  •  a CT-17 remote control unit,
  •  a USB RS232 convertor cable (to connect the CT-17 to a PC via the USB Hub),
  •  a USB Hub (Sharkoon Square Hub), this hub will be powered as soon as the manufacturer can tell me what voltage to apply,
  •  a voltage rail, the smarttuner is also powered from this rail.

 

 

  

Updated configuration (14-oct-2009)

The board is now a box.
the different stages of completing the box:
frontview with connectors and labels
dustcaps added to 12 Volt connectors
Top view of box, USB cable in plastic cover to protect while painting,
HF and VHF coax for Icm 706

The guts of the box are on the floor: left bottom are 2 added cooling fans


Brackets for the Signalink USB are mounted and padded with
 neopreen tape
the brackets for the Icom CT-17 Communication Interface
Placed interface with Prolific USB-to-Serial interface (blue) ( the white part is th convertor from DB25 to DB9)
space below USB-Serial interface is filled with 3 layers of selfadhesive neopreen, then tie-wrapped down.
Lights on ....  SignaLink in place and tie-wrapped down between the brackets
